Dr. Nia Imani Bailey, DPA, M.A.Ed., RT(T) is the Founder of Smiley 91 LLC, a faith-driven organization dedicated to sharing God’s agape love through storytelling, honest conversations, and community action. Inspired by her Nana, affectionately known as “Smiley,” and her favorite scripture, Psalm 91, the organization embodies joy, resilience, and hope—values that guide Dr. Bailey’s life and work.
A native of West Philadelphia, Dr. Bailey has spent more than a decade as a Radiation Therapist and earned her Doctorate in Public Administration from West Chester University, where her research focused on improving the timely diagnosis of breast cancer in young women. Living with lupus and carrying the BCL6 cancer gene, she brings the perspective of both patient and healthcare professional to her advocacy.
Her leadership extends to her role as President of the Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation and as a volunteer with organizations including Live Like Lukas, Inc. and the Pink Lemonade Stand Challenge. She also advises Bexa Equity Alliance, contributes to Unite for HER’s Women of Color Task Force, and serves on the boards of Still Rise Farm Organization and Habituelle Board of Innovators.
In addition, Dr. Bailey is a writer and director, known for her documentaries A Letter to My Sisters: A Breast Cancer Documentary for Young Women and A Letter to My Sisters: The Erica Jo Robinson Story.
